Course Content

Electrical Engineering is one of the most thriving sectors in the Indian economy. The work of electrical engineers has become pervasive in our society, forming the foundation of computing and Information technologies. The Department is modernizing its laboratories so as to provide its students with hands on experience on Electrical and Electronic hardware. The government has planned to enhance the generation of electrical power by 10,000 MW per annum. Keeping in mind the huge employment potential, we have introduced electrical branch. The curriculum set for this course is such that the student acquires knowledge in electrical as well as electronic subjects. In this lab we have different types of DC motors, DC generators, single phase and three phase transformers, single phase and three phase motors, alternators etc. Different types of Analog and Digital instruments are available for practicals. The students of the department are provided with opportunities to interact with the centers of excellence in the country from academia as well as industry. Expert lectures are regularly arranged from authorities in their fields. Industry institute interaction is promoted by encouraging live industrial projects by the final year students, regular industrial visits, as well as guest lectures from industry personnel. The students of the department are also encouraged for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and have brought laurels at the various national level competitions. Career Options

Work on the design of telecommunication systems, the operator of electric power stations, the lighting and wiring of buildings, the designer or the electrical control of industrial machinery. Graduates with electrical engineering diploma hold a variety of jobs.
